Sunday, August 11, 2024 - The Twelfth Sunday of Pentecost

Join Us for a Transformative Sunday Service at Pender UMC!

This Sunday, dive deep into what it means to embody "The New Humanity in Christ" with Pastor Bruce Johnson. Our morning service, enriched with the profound teachings from Ephesians 4:17-5:2 and John 6:35, 41-51, promises to be a spiritual journey that challenges and enlightens.

**What to Expect:**

- **Scriptural Deep Dive:** Pastor Bruce explored the radical transformation Paul describes in Ephesians, urging us to cast off the old self and embrace a life filled with righteousness and holiness. Complemented by Jesus' declaration in John as the Bread of Life, the sermon will offer nourishing insights on sustaining our spiritual journey.

- **Music and Worship:** Lift your spirits and voices with our dedicated choir and music team as they deliver hymns and songs that resonate with the day's theme. Hear our new tuba player, Mark Severeniuk, accompanied. by Heidi Jacobs on piano as they played "Amazing Grace" for the offertory.

- **Community and Fellowship:** Engage with a community of believers passionate about living out their faith in meaningful ways. This is a perfect opportunity to connect and share in the collective pursuit of a deeper understanding of our roles as new creations in Christ.

- **Missionaries:** Rich and Ruth Wiewiora, from CRU Ministries gave us an update.

The offering music was "Jesus the Boundless Love to Me" (Paul Gerhardt) sung by the Pender Quartet.

The hymns were "I’ll Praise My Maker While I’ve Breath", "Spirit of God, Descend Upon My Heart" and “Take My Life, and Let it Be Consecrated”.

Whether you're a long-time member or seeking a new church home, we welcome you to experience a morning of renewal and commitment. Let's come together to discover how we can live out the new humanity Christ calls us to embrace.
