Reflecting on Sabbath Work: A Recap of Pastor Bruce Johnson's Sermon

We gathered at Pender UMC as Pastor Bruce Johnson delivered a compelling sermon on “Sabbath Work.” This special service also included Holy Communion.

We explored the scriptures from 2 Corinthians 4:5-12 and Mark 2:23-3:6, engaging in worship, reflection, and community.

The combined handbell groups opened the service with "Siyahamba," a lively African march, setting a joyful tone for the gathering.

The hymns were “Holy God, We Praise Thy Name”, "Shine, Jesus Shine" led by Julia Jamison and “Be Thou My Vision”.
