Join us for a heartwarming third Sunday of Advent on December 15, 2024, at Pender United Methodist Church, where the spirit of Joy was in full flame. This week, we illuminated the Joy Candle, a symbol of the delight we find in the divine presence among us. Pastor Bruce Johnson delivered a sermon titled "When God is Near," drawing from the hopeful messages of Zephaniah 3:14-20, the peace in Philippians 4:4-7, and the challenging call of Luke 3:7-18.

The service also featured a special moment for our children. Patrick King shared the Good News with our youngest members in a way that touched hearts and nurtured faith. The third Advent candle, representing Joy, was proudly lit by our dedicated Children's Sunday School members and their teachers, marking a celebration of the growing light within our community as we draw closer to Christmas.
