On December 24, 2023 Pender celebrated the fourth Sunday of Advent with a special service. The 11:15 am Common Ground Contemporary Worship was a highlight, featuring a range of activities and performances.

Pastor Bruce Johnson delivered a poignant sermon titled "The Wisdom of God." He drew from the biblical passages of 2 Samuel 7:1-11, 2 Samuel 7:16, and Luke 1:26-38, providing deep insights and reflections.

The Common Ground Praise Band played a central role in the worship, performing several songs including:

“We Fall Down/Holy, Holy” by Chris Tomlin, “Noelle” by Lauren Daigle, and a medley of “Joy to the World/Joy of the Lord” by Maverick City Music.

The worship concluded with “Into Us” by Patrick King.

The lighting of the Fourth Advent Candle, symbolizing “The Prince of Peace” (referencing Isaiah 9:6-7), was conducted by Greg and Maya Berry.

Maya Berry also led a 'Moment for Missions' and 'Good News for Children', providing engaging content for all ages.

This service was a blend of inspirational messages, soulful music, and community engagement, reflecting the spirit of Advent and the anticipation of Christmas.
