TENT MINISTRY

A few days ago, a tent was hoisted in a rural area in South America, an area that has not heard the Good News of Jesus Christ: three days of evangelism, with teaching in the morning, music in the afternoon, and services at night; three days of butchering many sheep and roasting the meat, and peeling many sacks of potatoes to serve those who come from a long walking distance; three days of anticipation that a church will be raised up. You are invited to participate with prayer during this special time.

This tent was just inaugurated two months ago, but has already been proven too small. Many leaders of a church in a nearby city made a personal loan in order to have an extension made. They now have a tent in which  many hundreds of people can sit on straw, protected from the rains that have begun early this year and from the cold winds, and find salvation for their souls by accepting the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for their sins.  There is a lot to praise the Lord for, and to be a part of something that is eternal.

But this has not been without cost.

The local Pastor has paid a heavy cost to see the birth of his vision.  Over the years he has suffered with his family disowning him for his faith and then with the death and acute illnesses of his wife and several members of his family, his faith was challenged.  “How could so many bad things happen to my family when God is doing so many wonderful things by providing a tent and opening up invitations for evangelism?”

As he and his supporters prayed together, he once again felt the Spirit of God moving in him.  He is turning his tragedies into triumphs.  He has paid a great price to see men and women, youth and children redeemed from the grips of sin and filled with a joyful purpose in the midst of their poverty.

Please pray for this local pastor and all the people who come to this tent who hunger and thirst to know Jesus Christ personally.   (God will know who you are praying for even though we cannot include names in this story today.)
