A Christmas Note from Pastor Bruce

As we conclude this calendar year, I am thankful to God and to you for my first six months at Pender, and excited about the grace-filled possibilities of the new year as we grow in service to Christ and to our neighbors in his name.

Dear Church Family:

2023 is one of those rare years when Christmas Eve falls on the 4th Sunday of Advent.  So, it will be a busy day this Sunday (December 24) with our usual services at 9:00 and 11:15am and a combined service of Carols, Communion, and Candlelight at 7:30pm.  The next day, Christmas Day, we invite you to come as you are (PJ’s welcomed) to the Gathering Place at 10:30 to sing your favorite Christmas carols, hear the good news from the scriptures, and enjoy the fellowship of believers together celebrating Christ’s birth.

As we look ahead to 2024, Pender UMC will Pray in the New Year with an informal time of fellowship and prayer, beginning with a meal in the Gathering Place at 7:00pm on New Year’s Eve followed by a shared time of praying, testimony, and reflection.  Join us as we give thanks for the year past and pray for the year to come.

As we conclude this calendar year, I am thankful to God and to you for my first six months at Pender, and excited about the grace-filled possibilities of the new year as we grow in service to Christ and to our neighbors in his name.

A blessed Christmas to you and your family, and to all who welcome Christ’s coming.
