On Sunday, June 12, 2022, we welcomed Pastor Pedro and Carla Magalhães with simultaneous translation provided by Maya Berry.
Pender’s Faith Promise Missionaries from Paraguay. They have served in ministry together for 32 years and were some of the first ministers ordained in the Paraguay Methodist Church. Pastor Pedro was appointed Bishop, serving 8 years, and recently stepped down to lead Central Methodist Church in the capital of Asuncion. Pedro and Carla have planted several Methodist churches and helped build 2 primary schools, where 600 children are now enrolled.
They have served faithfully as Directors at the Bible Institute, where they still teach. Carla has led the children’s ministry for 15 years. Pedro has created a national ecumenical prayer group to pray for Paraguay churches. He's begun a men’s prayer ministry too. Pedro earned his Master’s in Mission and Evangelism and his Doctorate from Asbury Theological Seminary. Pedro and Carla have 2 married sons and prayerfully are expecting their first grandchild in August!
