Missions Update February 4, 2022

February 04, 2022

Pender’s Faith Promise Missionaries,  Pedro and Carla Magalhaes,  share with us how God is using them to spread the word and strengthen the church in Asuncion, Paraguay.

-They teach in the Bible Institute in the city and in the interior of the country equipping the saints for service of ministry.

-Children’s Ministry.  They helped organize and conduct the “National Camp” for children.  This is a special time to reach the children and strengthen the children’s ministries in the local churches.

-Partners in Prayer Ministry.  The great challenge with this ministry is to raise up and train intercessors among the churches in Paraguay. So far they have had several prayer groups that meet via WhatsApp and Zoom.  It is a time to pray and strengthen each other’s faith, to look for a spiritual awakening, to pray for their government authorities, and for all believers in general.  The goal is to keep raising up more prayer groups around the country.

- They began the new year with a great challenge.  They have been appointed pastors of the Central Methodist Church of Asuncion.  This is the oldest church among the Methodist churches in Paraguay, however, it has not grown in recent years.  Basically, it will be a kind of restarting of that church in the sense of activating ministries, old and new as well as reaching more lives for Christ in that community.

Please keep praying for Pedro and Carla.  Pray that God uses their lives with power, that His perfect will be done in their ministry along with the Paraguayan church, and the nation will flourish in His glory.  Please pray for their family as well, may their sons and daughters-in-law continue to stand firm and serve the Lord with the talents and gifts that God has entrusted to them.  And lastly, please pray for Pedrito and Eliane as they will soon be parents and Pedro and Carla will be grandparents!!
