Christmas in Philippi Angel Tree

by Jane McKee on October 29, 2024

At Pender's Worship service on September 29, 2024 Jane McKee explained how Christmas in Philippi would work this year.

November 16 and 17, we're packing our bags and heading to the town of Philippi, West Virginia, on a mission of love and cheer! Our youth mission trip is all about spreading joy to those living on Chestnut Ridge who might not otherwise experience the magic of Christmas!

Please select a child from our Angel tree. Follow the instructions on the card to buy, pray over, and donate the gift that will light up their faces and fill their hearts with joy!**

Our Pender Youth Team will join forces with local Philippi youth to wrap those gifts with love!

This mission trip is not just about giving; it’s about sharing hope, love, and the true meaning of Christmas. Let’s show the world the power of God and the promise of the season!

Let’s bring hope and love to Chestnut Ridge this Christmas!

**Please bring all gifts to the church by Sunday, November 10th so we can pray over them!

The backing track is a Jazz Duo on Charlie Brown Christmas Medley played by Liz Sellers, piano; AJ Rios, drums played during the Holiday Concert, December 3, 2022. See all the videos from that concert at https://penderumc.org/music-ministry/concert-series/

While the team was in Philippi, they checked out the Tiny House project. Ruston Seaman and his non-profit New Vision are building a village of 24 tiny homes in Philippi, West Virginia.

This village will give these vulnerable young people a stable place to live and learn essential life skills.
