JOINING TOGETHER TO HOLD THE ROPES

This week we highlight another one of Pender’s missionaries.

R & M serve in Southeast Asia and they share with us news of the clean water project.  The team has completed eight community clean water systems this year.  And they are preparing to build two more in the coming month.  They have had several opportunities in the last month to share Christ with those they are working with in villages.  Pray for the ministries in SE Asia as they continue providing clean water, hunger relief, discipleship, and care.

In the late 1770s, William Carey helped to form a missionary society in England and was appointed to India.  As he prepared to go, a member of the society compared the expected work to a deep mine shaft and asked who would venture to explore it?  Carey responded, “I will venture  to go down, but remember that you must hold the ropes.”  In turn, the society promised to “hold the ropes.”

When we hear this expression today it reminds us, who support missionaries and their ministries, that we are in this together, connected in our desire and mission to reach those who are often unseen and unreached.  It is through your commitment with faithful prayers, encouragement, and support that these ministries are possible and continue even in challenging times.

Thank you all for your support.
