JUST BE ME

Donald, Carol, Cora and Daniel Paige (The Mission Society-TMS) are here this week and will be sharing on Sunday Aug. 1st in the Pender worship time and with two Sunday school classes.  They  spent 13 years in Paraguay as missionaries before feeling the call to go to Spain. However their move to Spain was delayed by Covid but in January 2021 they finally arrived!   Most people think of Spain as a Christian country because of its large catholic population, however, the churches are empty and followers of Christ are few.   Carol is the coordinator of curriculum and instruction at LIFE International School in Madrid.  This is one of the only 3 Christian schools in the country.   The vision is to establish 20 Christian schools in 20 years throughout Spain.  Donald is helping at the school and he also desires to be involved in evangelism in their church.

LIFE had its first 6th grade graduation last month.  Three boys gave their testimony of how the school had impacted their lives.  One said that for the first time he was in a school where he could “just be me” and where all the teachers loved and cared for him.  Another had grown up in a Christian home but never knew who Jesus was until this year.  Another boy said that in his Spanish schools he never got to know his teacher but at this school, he felt the care from not only his teacher but all the teachers in the school.    Next year Donald will be working with this group of boys in a discipleship group.
