Reverend Kenny Newsome
I am a native Virginian married to Mary Dale. Together, we have four young adult children. I love to travel, go to the movies and take long walks.
I am a 1975 graduate of Northumberland High School in Heathsville, Virginia, and hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Wesleyan College (1979) as well as a Master of Divinity from Oral Roberts University (1982). My vision for Pender focuses on three points:
To become a center for evangelism and outreach, offering people hope and new life in Christ Jesus.
To assist laypersons in discovering their spiritual gifts and helping them become involved in lay ministries.
To help young adults find vital faith, making a difference in our world.
I know GOD is alive at Pender...
...because I see the ways He is involved in touching and changing lives of children, youth and adults. You simply look at the faces of those at Pender and you can see God shining back at you.
The thing I like most about Pender...
...is the caring, friendly people. They really do make you feel welcomed and a special part of God’s family.
