Celebrate the pinnacle of the Christian faith with us on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Pender UMC, during our special combined service. Experience the power of resurrection and redemption as Pastor Bruce delivers a compelling message titled “God’s Best Sermon,” drawing from the heart of the Gospel in Acts 10:34-43, 1 Corinthians 15:1-11, and Mark 16:1-8.

This extraordinary service will not only explore the profound depths of Christ's resurrection but will also invite you to partake in the sacred act of Holy Communion, connecting us all in a moment of divine unity and grace. As we reflect on the scripture's revelations, we'll journey together through the awe-inspiring narrative of Jesus' victory over death, illuminating the path of faith, hope, and eternal life.

The crescendo of our Easter celebration will be the triumphant strains of the Hallelujah Chorus, filling the air with joyous praise and worship, symbolizing our collective rejoicing in the resurrection of Christ. This is not just a service; it’s a spiritual journey that promises to uplift, inspire, and renew your faith.

Be part of this glorious Easter celebration at Pender UMC. M Let's come together to honor the resurrection of Jesus, embracing the message of hope and salvation that defines this holy day.

GBE Backpack Meal Program Thanks and Update

The next bags will be available April 7 to be returned by April 21st.

We wanted to thank you all so much for your very active participation in filling the blue bags for GBE. Each time we put them out they are all taken and brought back full! We can't tell you how much we and the counselors and students at GBE appreciate this! The bags will once again be available this weekend..

You might notice that we will no longer be asking for Mac-n-Cheese and Milk. Thanks to WFCM, who has provided a refrigerator to the school, as of last week, they are also providing Mac-n-Cheese and fresh produce and refrigerated items.

In addition to filling the blue bags if you have any plastic grocery bags that you would like to recycle, they have said that would be of great help in distributing the additional WFCM provided items. Thank you again for your continued support. If you have any questions, please contact Jami Flemmons or Ann Hines

Rest Stop

Items can be left in the blue bin or in the church office labeled "Rest Stop".

Items often needed are: 16 oz water bottles (They do not use the 4oz ones) and energy/protein drinks.

They also enjoy individual size bags of potato chips, jerky, cookies and nuts.

Western Fairfax Christian Ministries (WFCM)

JDC (Juvenile Detention Center)

Wanted: Volunteers to attend Pender's monthly church service at the Fairfax Juvenile Detention Center. Our next date is March 24th..

We meet at the jail at 12:30p, and are out by 2:00p.

Our ministry at the jail is growing, and the young people thirst for the water of life because of their circumstances. It is easy fishin' as they already stepped out of their cell to come to church.

It is a showing up thing. That's all you need to do... show up. Contact Arlet if interested.
