Director of Youth Ministry
Around the summer of 1998 I volunteered my wife and I to lead a Sunday night youth program. We had absolutely no earthly idea what I volunteered us for. But I knew then that this is where God wanted me to serve Him. For nine years I was a volunteer Youth Director. At one point during that time I was asked to fill out a job application for the Youth Director’s job at Pender. I said no at the time because I didn’t think I was called to do this in a paid position. I then began a course of study to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies with a minor in Youth Ministry which I have almost completed. Then a few years later this same guy asked me to pray about the job of Youth Director at Pender. After a lot of prayer and discussions with God, God told me that it was still a calling even if I got paid! I came to Pender in June 2006 as the Youth Director. One of the many blessings in these years has been having my wife, Sally to serve along side in this ministry that is both dynamic and a very important mission field.
I know God is alive at Pender because...
Working at Pender has allowed me to see the hand of God in ways one can only imagine. God is alive through everyone who walks through the doors of the church. People at Pender are always willing to lend a helping hand and it is always with a smile.
You should choose Pender...
The bigger question for me is why wouldn’t you choose Pender? Pender is inviting and God based with fantastic opportunities for all ages to learn more about Jesus Christ. Pender is true to Christ’s great commission of making disciples of all nations.
