Faith Promise Update
"The Church with a Heart for Missions"
Over four million dollars given since 1988.
Pender UMC is known as “The Church with a Heart for Missions” but that has not always been the case. It was more than 80 years after Pender was founded in 1907 before the church held its first Missions Conference. Since that time, 1988, Pender has given over more than 4.6 million dollars to missions through Faith Promise giving.
The Faith Promise Missions Budget that is funded by your Faith Promise Pledges is entirely separate from the church budget. Its preparation and administration is handled by the Global Missions Core Area under the guidelines of the Missions Policy Statement that was approved by the Administrative Board.
Among the missionaries supported are three from our own congregation: Charles and Chris Hanak, and Donna Seaman. The budget also includes support for active members or constituent members who go on Short Term Missions Trips.
The Faith Promise Pledges will be received at the Annual Missions Conference. This is your opportunity to help fulfill Christ’s Great Commission to go and make disciples of all nations so that none would perish.
God Is Faithful! He is not slow in keeping his promise. Thank you for your faithfulness in obeying God to support His work by your commitment, sacrifice, prayers and efforts.
